New Ukrainian School changed approaches to education - Groysman

The reform of school education is being successfully implemented in Ukraine, and 461 thousand pupils will finish the first grade of the New Ukrainian School in May 2019.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman wrote this on his Facebook page.

"The first year of study at the New Ukrainian School is coming to an end...  In May, 461,000 first-graders will be ready to go to the second grade of the New Ukrainian School. And whatever school in the country I attend, I always hear from children that they like to study. That’s the reason why we‘ve launched all this” he wrote.

According to him, when the government began this reform, it set a goal to completely change the approach to school education, change the pupil’s and teacher’s relations, nurture ingenuity and courage in the child, teach how to become a person and defend own opinion.

“We’ve changed everything so that to make the New Ukrainian School completely new. Children study in the renewed educational space with modern furniture, interactive whiteboards on the walls and new technological equipment. Teachers have passed recertification to implement high standards of education so that the teacher can be not just a teacher for children, but a mentor and friend,” Groysman stressed.
