Groysman: Over 8 million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of Affordable Medicines

Over 8 million Ukrainians have taken opportunity of the government’s reimbursement program Affordable Medicines.

Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Over 8 million Ukrainians have already taken advantage of Affordable Medicines. Now the register includes 258 drugs, which patients can get completely free of charge or with small surcharge," Groysman wrote.

According to him, due to this program, Ukrainians are able to continue the course of treatment even if they lack for money.

In addition, the prime minister said that the World Health Organization confirmed that the Affordable Medicines program made it easier for Ukrainians to access treatment and helped reduce drug prices.

The government’s program Affordable Medicines was launched in April 2017. Doctors prescribe recipes for receiving medicines to treat cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes and bronchial asthma for free or with small surcharge.
