UNESCO condemns repressions in Crimea - Oleh Shamshur

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has condemned the deterioration of the human rights situation in annexed Crimea, according to Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine in France Oleh Shamshur.

“Spoke at the 8th UNESCO information meeting on the situation in occupied Crimea. The participants condemned the continuing deterioration of the human rights situation on the peninsula," Shamshur wrote on Twitter.

The ambassador also noted that a large group of states made a joint statement in support of Ukraine.

As Ukrinform reported, on March 27, mass searches were conducted in the houses of Crimean Tatars, the activists of the Crimean Solidarity organization. At least 23 people were detained.
