On Wednesday morning, March 27, Russian security officials conduct searches in the houses of at least 25 Crimean Tatar families in Simferopol and Bilohirsk district in the occupied Crimea, ATR reports.

As reported in social networks, the searches are conducted, in particular, in the houses of activists of the "Crimean Solidarity" initiative and civilian defenders.

Russian security forces blocked the streets in several building estates and villages of Simferopol.

According to the Crimea.Realities project, the Russian Guard blocked the residential quarter in Kamenka building estate. The local residents are not allowed to go home.

A list of people, whose houses are searched, has been published on Facebook page of the Crimean Solidarity.

After Russia illegally annexed Crimea, the de-facto authorities practice mass searches in the houses of independent journalists, civil society activists, activists of the Crimean Tatar National Movement, members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, as well as Crimean Muslims suspected of having links with the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, which is banned in Russia.

The Crimean Solidarity reported on Facebook that Russian security officers had detained at least 15 people after the searches in the houses of Crimean Tatars. They were taken to the Department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Simferopol city.
