Ukrainians can now travel to Georgia using ID cards

The updated agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Georgia on mutual cancellation of visa requirements, which entered into force on March 1, allows Ukrainians to travel to Georgia using internal passports in the form of an ID card.

The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported this on its Facebook page.

"On March 1, 2019, the updated agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Georgia on the mutual abolition of visa requirements came into effect. In addition to the existing visa free regime, Ukrainian citizens can visit Georgia using internal passports in the form of ID cards, which contain a contactless electronic carrier," the report says.
