Poll: Public confidence in rescuers higher than any other body of Interior Ministry’s system

In the system of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry, the State Emergency Service has the highest level of trust among citizens - 61%, the ministry’s press service has reported with a reference to a recent poll conducted by the Razumkov Center.

"Sociologists of the Razumkov Center recorded a high level of public confidence in the bodies of the Interior Ministry. In the Interior Ministry’s system, the State Emergency Service has the highest level of trust among citizens - 61%. Some 52% of respondents said they trust the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, 50% - the National Guard of Ukraine, 40.4% - the Patrol Police Department,” the report says.

It is noted that comparing with the results of a poll conducted in June 2018, the level of confidence in the patrol police grew by 5.2%.

“37.8% of respondents said they trust the National Police. The level of trust grew by 4.9%,” the report says.

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov noted that polls show that the level of confidence in the National Police of Ukraine is between 30 to 37%, while the level of trust in other bodies of the Interior Ministry, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergencies Service, is higher.

At the same time, the ministry stressed that according to the conducted poll, respondents said that among state and public institutions, they trust volunteer organizations the most - 67%.

The nationwide public opinion poll was conducted from February 7 to February 14, 2019.
