Ukraine wants to strengthen cooperation with Brazilian state of Paraná

The Lviv Regional State Administration wants to strengthen links with the Brazilian state of Paraná, which has the largest Ukrainian community in Latin America.

The strengthening of partnership in various fields was discussed at the meeting of Paraná governor Ratinho Júnior and Ukrainian Ambassador to Brazil Rostyslav Tronenko, the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federative Republic of Brazil reports.

"Strengthening partnership in the area of education, agriculture, infrastructure projects and public security was discussed during the meeting of Paraná Governor Ratinho Junior and Ambassador of Ukraine to Brazil Rostyslav Tronenko. Accompanied by the leaders of the Ukrainian community in Paraná, the diplomat handed over to Ratinho Junior the Memorandum of Understanding, which had been sent by Chairman of the Lviv Regional State Administration Oleh Syniutka to strengthen the links between the regions," the statement reads.

The possibility of sending students to Ukraine as part of the exchange program was also discussed. As noted, Ukraine is already offering scholarships for young people from the Ukrainian community in Paraná.

"The Ukrainian community is very important for Paraná. We are interested in strengthening and expanding our partnership with Ukraine," Ratinho Junior said.

The Ukrainian community of Paraná is the largest Ukrainian community in Latin America as 500,000 Brazilians of Ukrainian descent live there.
