Over 230 candidates for Supreme Court posts pass exams - HQCJ

A total of 235 candidates participating in the competition to the Supreme Court of Ukraine have successfully passed exams, according to a report obtained by Ukrinform from the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (HQCJ).

"The exams as part of the competition to the Supreme Court have successfully been passed by 235 candidates, including 76 candidates of legal sciences and 17 doctors of legal sciences. Those who continue to participate in the competition include 144 men and 91 women," reads the report .

According to HQCJ Chairman Serhiy Koziakov, in late 2018, commission members completed the verification of the practical works performed as part of competitions to the Supreme Court and the High Anti-Corruption Court and determined how many candidates had successfully completed the tasks and would continue to participate in the competition.

In particular, according to the results obtained, 78 candidates successfully passed the examination for posts to the Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court, 48 candidates to the Cassation Economic Court within the Supreme Court, 40 candidates to the Cassation Criminal Court within the Supreme Court, and 69 candidates to the Cassation Civil Court within the Supreme Court.

In addition, the HQCJ said that according to the results of the first stage of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) and the HACC's Appeals Chamber, 81 candidates compete for posts of HACC judges and 32 candidates for posts at the HACC's Appeals Chamber.

On August 2, 2018, the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine announced competitions for 78 posts of judges of the Supreme Court and 39 posts at the High Anti-Corruption Court.
