Survey: Czech attitude toward Ukrainians improves

The attitude of the Czechs toward Ukraine and Ukrainians has improved significantly, the Czech Center for Public Opinion Research reports.

As of December 2018, 62% of Czechs had positive attitude toward Ukraine, while 23% had negative attitude. In January 2015, 49% of Czechs expressed a positive attitude toward Ukraine, while 35% expressed a negative one.

The Czechs are best disposed toward Slovakia (95%), Poland (91%), Hungary and Austria (89% each), while the worst - toward Saudi Arabia (28%), Syria (25%) and Iran (22%).

58% of Czechs have a positive attitude toward Russia, while 33% have a negative attitude.

“The only thing we should think about is that, according to sociologists, the Czech men tend to assess the relations with Ukraine more positively than the Czech women. We’ll take it into account,” Ukrainian ambassador to the Czech Republic Yevhen Perebyinis commented.
