New composition of Public Integrity Council elected

A new composition of the Public Integrity Council (PIC) in Ukraine has been elected at a meeting of representatives of public associations, an Ukrinform correspondent has reported.

The meeting, which was held in the premises of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, was attended by 11 out of 12 public associations that were recognized by the commission as those meeting the requirements for participation in a meeting of representatives of public associations for the creation of the Public Integrity Council. Only representatives of NGO Center UA did not attend the meeting.

According to the results of the open voting, the PIC now includes Vadym Valko, Yevhen Voroboyov, Mykhailo Zhernakov, Roman Kuibido, Andriy Kulibaba, Anton Marchuk, Roman Maselko, Volodymyr Mishchenko, Yevhenia Motorevska, Dmytro Ostapenko, Denys Savchenko, Andriy Savchuk, Maksym Sereda, Roman Smoliuk, Natalia Sokolenko, Dmytro Styhun, Roman Sukhostavets, Halyna Chyzhyk, Taras Shepel, and Oleh Yakymiak.

Three persons, who will replace PIC members in case of their leaving the council, were also determined. They are Ihor Bahriy, Olena Luniova and Eduard Mielkykh.

The PIC is being formed to assist the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in determining the conformity of judges (candidates for judgeship) with the professional ethics and integrity criteria in the light of qualifications assessment.
