Zakarpattia region to spend almost UAH 18 mln for tourism projects

Zakarpattia region is implementing several tourism projects worth over UAH 17.7 million that are funded from the state budget, according to the press service of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration

“The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the allocation of budgetary funds for regional development projects that can be implemented using state budget funds received from the European Union under the Agreement on the Sector Policy Support Programme - Support to Ukraine's Regional Policy, which passed the competitive selection. Zakarpattia region received funding for a number of infrastructure projects that will ensure the development of innovation economy and investment, rural areas, human development and tourism,” reads the report.

In particular, among the projects is the restoration of the architectural monument of national importance - Nevytsky Castle. The total cost of the project is UAH 10.75 million.

The region also plans to arrange parking lots for travelers and improve tourist navigation.
