Ukraine’s MFA condemns attack on Canadian journalist during transgender rights rally in Kyiv

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine states that any attacks on journalists, as well as any manifestations of intolerance and violence are unacceptable.

Spokesperson for MFA Kateryna Zelenko wrote this on Twitter, when commenting on the attack on a Canadian photographer during the transgender rights rally held in the center of Kyiv.

“Attacks on journalists, as well as any manifestations of intolerance and violence, are considered unacceptable. We are waiting for the results of the investigation by law enforcement agencies,” she wrote.

On November 18, the far-right protesters interrupted the transgender rights rally in the center of Kyiv and attacked some activists. Among those injured was Canadian photographer Michael Colborne who was trying to cover the event.
