Ukrainian woman wanted by NABU extradited from Montenegro - Prosecutor General's Office

The procedure for extradition from Montenegro of a Ukrainian citizen, wanted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) for fictitious entrepreneurship and legalization of illegal proceeds worth over UAH 1.6 billion, has been completed, Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) spokesperson Andriy Lysenko has said on Facebook.

"The procedure for extradition from Montenegro to Ukraine of a Ukrainian citizen, who was wanted by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine for committing in a criminal organization the fictitious entrepreneurship and legalization of proceeds from crime in a total amount of more than UAH 1.6 billion, has been completed," he wrote.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the PGO and the NABU, the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro in September 2018 decided to extradite the said person to Ukraine.

On October 18, the woman was accepted by Ukrainian law enforcement officers and handed over to NABU detectives, Lysenko said.

A pre-trial investigation body is carrying out urgent investigative measures.

Media reports say that Montenegro extradited Iryna Musiyenko, who is suspected of participating in the so-called "gas scheme" of Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko.
