Final tribute paid to former director of Ukrinform, BSANNA secretary-general Viktor Chamara

Viktor Chamara, the former director general of the Ukrainian National News Agency “Ukrinform”, the secretary-general of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA), died at the age of 65 on September 4.

The colleagues paid final tribute to Viktor Chamara at the Ukrinform news agency today.

He led Ukrinform for 12 years - from May 1999 till May 2011. Viktor Chamara worked at the agency for a total of 33 years, having made his way from observer and senior editor to senior management. 

Serving as the director general of Ukrinform, he became one of initiators of the foundation of the Black Sea Association of National News Agencies (BSANNA) in 2006.

Viktor Chamara was the honored journalist of Ukraine. In last years, he worked in The Voice of Ukraine parliamentary newspaper.
