First Lady presents the Book of Peace project in Croatia

President’s wife Maryna Poroshenko presented the national project "Book of Peace" in Croatia and met with Ukrainian soldiers who undergo rehabilitation in the town of Split, the president’s press service reports.  

During the working visit to the Republic of Croatia, Maryna Poroshenko met with children from the Ukrainian community. Together they created and filled new pages of the national project.

"For more than four years our state has been forced to protect the integrity of its borders. And courageous Ukrainian soldiers are doing everything to bring peace to their native land - for the sake of the future of Ukrainian children," Maryna Poroshenko noted, presenting the album in which Ukrainian children leave their family photos and write wishes to Ukraine about a peaceful life.

A total of 24 regions of Ukraine have already joined the national project "Book of Peace," as well as representatives of diasporas from the USA, Canada, Turkey, Portugal and Spain. On August 23, the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine, a solemn presentation of this photo album will take place in Kyiv.

The meeting was also attended by Ukrainian soldiers from Ternopil region, who participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, and now are undergoing treatment in Split.

The President's wife congratulated the Ukrainian defenders and thanked them for heroism, courage and love for Ukraine. She also wished them a speedy recovery and return home.
