Bravo Airways transported Ukrainians from Tunisia at its own expense - Omelyan

Ukrainian airline Bravo Airways has transported at its own expense from Tunisia the Ukrainian tourists whose flights were delayed.

Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan said this at a briefing on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I would like to thank the Bravo airline, which has made a humanitarian mission and at its own expense, despite the tour operator's failure to fulfill its obligations, brought all Ukrainians out of Tunisia," Omelyan said.

As reported, hundreds of Ukrainian tourists have been blocked at airports in several countries since June 29. For several hours or even days people were waiting for their flights at the airports of Tunisia, Albania, Georgia, as well as at Kyiv's Zhuliany Airport. Bravo Airways said that flights had been delayed for several days due to non-payment of funds by the tour operator. The latter denies its fault.

Some Ukrainian tourists have already arrived in Ukraine, while others are still waiting for a return. In particular, it was reported on July 2 that about 160 Ukrainian tourists could not return home from Palma de Mallorca. The flight should have been performed by YanAir Airlines. The tour operator's press service told Ukrinform that the delay had been caused by a technical failure of the YanAir airplane. According to Zhuliany Airport's website, an airplane from Palma de Mallorca has already arrived in Ukraine.

On July 2, it was also reported that Ukrainian tourists who spent more than 24 hours at the airport in the Albanian capital of Tirana due to cancellation of their flight had flown out home.
