Belarus sends humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine

Belarus has sent humanitarian aid to eastern Ukraine.

Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations of Belarus Alexander Khudoleev said this during a press conference on Tuesday.

"In accordance with the agreements reached as a result of the meeting of the presidents of Ukraine and Belarus, the Belarusian authorities took a decision to send another humanitarian convoy, which contained food, furniture and refrigerators," he said.

In turn, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Ukraine Igor Sokol noted that it was decided to send humanitarian aid both to the uncontrolled territory of Ukraine and to the controlled one.

He also said that the Belarusian Government provided humanitarian assistance to Ukraine for about $80,000, and the funds were allocated from the state budget.
