Avdiyivka may be out of drinking water in coming days - Hug

Avdiyivka in Donetsk region, as well as parts of Yasynuvata and Donetsk, may be out of drinking water in coming days, however, the parties can still prevent this.

Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug said this on Friday, the organization's press service reported on Twitter.

"Avdiyivka will be out of drinking water in coming days. Parts of Yasynuvata and Donetsk city too. The sides have it in their hands to prevent this. They need to agree with no delay on plan and action for safe and secure access for DFS [Donetsk Filtration Station] workers. SMM ready to facilitate any proposal," he said.

Hug also noted that last week SMM recorded at least 600 ceasefire violations in 15km radius around the Donetsk Filtration Station. As a result of non-compliance by the side, the DFS had to be shut down this week, he added.
