Latvian delegation led by ambassador transfers humanitarian aid to residents of Donetsk region

A Latvian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikāns has provided humanitarian assistance to the residents of Donetsk region.

This was reported by the press service of Donetsk Regional and Civil Administration on Tuesday.

"The Latvian delegation has sent humanitarian aid to the residents of Donetsk region. The aid will be delivered by the representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine," the report reads.

Ambassador Poikāns stressed that Latvia "is pleased to help Ukraine in the struggle for integrity."

"This is our seventh cargo. The main goal of humanitarian assistance is to give practical support to Donetsk residents. And this is also our political support for Ukraine," the ambassador said.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 5, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Ukraine Juris Poikāns met with Head of Donetsk Regional and Civil Administration Pavlo Zhebrivsky in Donetsk region and discussed the issues of cooperation with the region.
