Bicycle rally in Kharkiv brings together 25,000 participants

A total of 25,000 residents of Kharkiv participated in a traditional bicycle rally on May 20, reads a report posted on the website of Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

Kharkiv Regional Governor Yulia Svitlychna also participated in the bicycle race.

The 13th bike race started on Freedom Square and passed through the central streets of the city. Before the race, cyclists formed the emblem of Kharkiv during a flash mob. 

During the race, the city center was closed to vehicles. Police officers maintained law and order during the event.

Cycling Day is a large-scale social and sports project that has been taking place in Kharkiv since 2006. It promotes a healthy lifestyle, safety and mutual respect for all road users.
