Canadian programs, German experience used for telemedicine project in Ukraine

Canada, France, Germany, Croatia and the World Bank help Ukraine to implement the project of rural medicine.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this during the opening of an obstetric unit in the village of Bodenki in Vyshgorodsky district of Kyiv region, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Canada will provide us with the computer programs for telemedicine. We will adopt the German experience not to repeat the mistakes that have already been made throughout the world. Croatia provides us with the experts who will help implement this system," the Head of State said.

Apart from state budget and local government funds, the World Bank funds will be used to finance the rural medicine project, the President added.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the presidential law on increasing accessibility and quality of medical care in rural areas on November 14, 2017.
