Temperature in Kyiv breaks record of 1911

A record temperature in Kyiv was registered on Friday, May 4, rising to +30.1 C in the afternoon.

"According to the observations of the meteorological station at the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, a record air temperature was registered on May 4, when it rose to +30.1 C in the afternoon, 1.2 C higher than the previous record of 1911. As a consequence, the average daily temperature beat out the record of 1934. It was +22.8 C. The beginning of May in Kyiv is anomalously sultry and dry," the Borys Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory reports.

The night of May 4 in the capital of Ukraine was the warmest since 1881.
