State committee initiates new sanctions over anti-Ukrainian Russian books

The Ukrainian State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting proposes the Cabinet of Ministers to introduce new economic sanctions against legal entities of the Russian Federation that systematically publish and spread books with anti-Ukrainian content.

The press service of the committee told this to Ukrinform.

In 2015- 2018, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting carried out the monitoring of the book distribution industry so that to check the printed material for the content that contradicts the Ukrainian legislation.

Following the monitoring, the committee compiled a list of books with the content that is aimed at eliminating Ukraine's independence, promoting violence, inciting interethnic, racial, religious hatred, committing terrorist acts, encroaching on human rights and freedoms.

"The list, which has been posted on the official website of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, includes 172 publications issued by 35 publishing houses,” said the committee.
