Trilateral Contact Group to discuss release of hostages on April 4

The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the settlement of the situation in Donbas plans to discuss the release of hostages on April 4.

First Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko, who represents Ukraine in the TCG's subgroup on humanitarian issues, reported this on her Facebook page.

"We want the next wave of release to happen as soon as possible, and we will talk about it at a meeting of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk on April 4," she wrote.

Gerashchenko said that she had met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to discuss the release of captives and political prisoners.

They also discussed the absence of access for doctors and representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to prisoners and the violation of their right to meetings with consuls.

At its previous meeting, the TCG agreed on a complete ceasefire on the contact line in Donbas for the period of Easter holidays, starting from March 30.
