Groysman hopes to change situation in medicine in three to five years

Ukraine needs several years to build a high-quality healthcare system, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said in a video posted on his Facebook page.

"When I hear that everything is bad in medicine, because we have conducted reform. We have not conducted any reform yet. We just started to do it. And I know that we need years to build a high-quality healthcare system. Developed states did it for decades. I think that we will change the situation in three to five years. We need to change this situation. And it is possible to change it. The situation should be better next year," Groysman said.

He added that he "also lost relatives, because Ukrainian medicine could not save their lives."

"I do not want medicine to continue to stay in such a deplorable condition, as it is today, and I do not want doctors to work with minimum wages," Groysman said.

He also called a myth the statements on the introduction of paid medicine.

"I would once again like to dispel the myth that somebody introduces some paid medicine. No. We will pay everything needed for a medical service provided to a Ukrainian citizen. All is absolutely free for you," Groysman said.
