Over 70,000 Kyiv residents already used Affordable Medicines program

Over 70,000 Kyiv residents have already used the government program Affordable Medicines, which provides reimbursement for medicines.

Head of the healthcare department at Kyiv City State Administration, Valentyna Ginzburg, stated this at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Affordable Medicines program is being implemented in the capital. Its budget for 2018 has been set at UAH 75.4 million. To date, more than 70,000 patients have already used this opportunity. These are patients with cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and bronchial asthma. The volume of financing for the issued medicines made up UAH 10.2 million," Ginzburg said.

In addition, she noted that more than 600 Kyiv drugstores joined the program.

"The network of pharmacies, available for the implementation of this government program, has been increased. Some 346 pharmacies were involved in the program in 2017, while at present more than 600 pharmacies are working under the government program Affordable Medicine," Ginzburg said.
