Association of Romanian Teachers of Odesa Region founded in Izmail

Teachers of the Romanian language and literature, as well as other subjects taught in the Romanian language at general education institutions in Odesa region have established the Association of Teachers of Romanian Nationality of Odesa Region [in Romanian: ACDERRO - Asociatia сadrelor didactice de etnie romanilor din regiunea Odesa].

"Romanian speaking representatives of the schools in Liman, Reni, Izmail and Kiliya districts of Odesa region held a meeting in the conference hall at the Izmail State Humanities University, where the Association of Teachers of Romanian Nationality of Odesa Region was established," the statement reads.

At the meeting, the teachers told that they were concerned about the state of school education in villages with Romanian-speaking population, including a sharp decline in the quality of education in Romanian, changes in the Ukrainian legislation related to ensuring the right to education in native (Romanian) language for Romanians / Moldovans of Ukraine.
