Ukrinform, Liga.net top ranking of journalistic standards in Internet media

Ukrinform and Liga.net have topped the ranking of compliance with journalistic standards in the Internet media in the first quarter of 2018.

These are the results of the study on compliance with key professional journalistic standards in ten Ukrainian Internet media outlets and five print media outlets, which was conducted by the Institute of Mass Information.

"There were practically no violations of the standard of reliability and separation of facts from comments on Liga.net website, while the standard of balance was broken only in 4% of articles. As for Ukrinform, on the contrary, the standard of balance and separation of facts from comments was practically not violated, while the standard of reliability was violated in 4% of articles," the IMI reports.

As noted, the Ukrayinska Pravda and 112.ua share the second position as 92% of their publications were written without violating professional standards. Censor.net occupies the third position in the ranking as 88% of its publications were written in compliance with professional journalistic standards.

Among the printed press, the Segodnia newspaper was recognized as the leader of compliance with journalistic standards as 78% of the articles were written without violations.
