Romanian ambassador visits Mukacheve, discusses education of national minorities

Romanian Ambassador to Ukraine Cristian Leon Turcanu is on a working visit to Zakarpattia region. In Mukacheve, the diplomat met with the city leadership and studied the development of the humanitarian sphere in the city as part of the implementation of a new education law. 

"Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Cristian Leon Turcanu, who is on a working visit to Zakarpattia region, visited Mukacheve today… During his visit to Mukacheve he was interested primarily in the development of the humanitarian sphere of the city. The issue also concerned the provision of educational services to representatives of national communities in the city, the implementation of the provisions of the new education law and other community development issues," Mukacheve City Council's press service reported.

The Romanian ambassador also plans to meet with representatives of the Romanian community in Zakarpattia region, according to the report.
