Today, the wife of the President of Ukraine, Maryna Poroshenko, has opened the first resource center for inclusive education in Zakarpattia region.
"This is the first resource center for inclusive education in Zakarpattia region. Eighteen more centers will be opened by September 1, 2018. They will provide support for children with special needs aged between 2 and 18 years throughout the training," Head of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal said.
According to information provided by Maryna Poroshenko, 141 inclusive schools operate in the region today, and about 300 students with special needs study there. The inclusive education covers only 1.5% of all children with special needs of Zakarpattia region.
To ensure affordable and high-quality learning environment for these children, the President's wife handed over to Hennadiy Moskal the projects for multimedia libraries and resource rooms developed by the Poroshenko Foundation.
