EU to allocate EUR 17 mln to support Ukrainian scientific projects

The European Union will provide EUR 17.23 million to 83 Ukrainian organizations for scientific projects under Horizon 2020 project, according to the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine.

According to the organization, Ukraine took the sixth place among Associated Countries in both the number of participations and gained EU contributions. Ukraine’s results were three times higher than that of Tunisia, Bosnia-Herzegovina or Moldova.

Some 505 Ukrainian organizations participated in the preparation of 915 project proposals expecting EU contribution of EUR 312.81 million.

A reminder that Horizon 2020 program is the basis of the EU economic development strategy until 2020, which is aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. Its total funding is almost EUR 80 billion.
