Council of Europe may adopt new plan for Ukraine in Feb

A new Council of Europe action plan for Ukraine for the next four years may be adopted in mid-February 2018, project manager of the Venice Commission in the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine Serhiy Tkachenko has said.

He stated this at a press conference at Ukrinform on Thursday.

"We hope that in mid-February we will adopt a new Council of Europe action plan for Ukraine for the next four years, within which all priorities will be reflected again and we will continue our work," Tkachenko said.

He said that the Council of Europe's action plan for Ukraine for 2015-2017 had expired.

Tkachenko also recalled that in the last two years, the Venice Commission had provided its recommendations on the bill on peaceful assemblies, conclusions on the law on so-called party dictatorship, on amendments to the law on the election of people's deputies of Ukraine, on the law on the Constitutional Court, on the Anti-Corruption Court, etc.
