Klimkin, Alfano visit checkpoint in Donetsk region

Ukrainian and Italian Foreign Ministers Pavlo Klimkin and Angelino Alfano have visited the Pyshchevyk checkpoint in the direction of Mariupol-Novoazovsk, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported on Twitter. 

"Klimkin and Alfano visited the checkpoint in Pyshchevyk. The contact line here is crossed by up to 4,000 people every day. The Ukrainian foreign minister informed his Italian colleague about the situation in this settlement and Shyrokyne," the statement reads.

Earlier, Klimkin and Alfano met with representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine in Mariupol.

Klimkin said at a briefing at the Foreign Ministry on January 30 that he wanted Alfano, as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, to see with his own eyes what is happening in Donbas.

Alfano is on a working visit to Ukraine on January 30-31.
