400,000 Ukrainians have already taken advantage of visa-free travel to Europe

About 400,000 Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the visa-free regime with the European Union.

This is reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

"In general, about 400,000 Ukrainians have already taken advantage of the visa-free regime with the European Union since June 11, 2017. About 36% of them were airline passengers. Most often our compatriots have left for Europe through the Ukrainian-Polish border, least often – through the checkpoints between Ukraine and Slovakia," reads the statement.

On 11 June 2017, the decision of the Council of the European Union to introduce a visa-free regime for short trips of Ukrainian citizens to 30 countries of the European Union and the Schengen zone came into force.

A visa-free regime allows Ukrainians who have a biometric passport of a citizen of Ukraine to stay and freely travel across Europe for no more than 90 days during any 180-day period.
