SBU prevents 16 terrorist attacks in 2017

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prevented 16 terrorist attacks in 2017.

SBU Chief Vasyl Hrytsak said this in an interview on the Ukraine television channel, Ukrinform reports.

"This year alone we managed to prevent 16 [terrorist attacks], and, unfortunately, we could not avoid eight terrorist attacks. It is a good result," Hrytsak said.

He noted that terrorist attacks are reported in the world's leading countries with powerful law enforcement agencies. Hrytsak said that it was much easier to commit a terrorist attack in a country where war is ongoing and where there are a lot of weapons.
