Executed by hunger: Photo exhibition about genocide of Ukrainians opens in Brussels

The photo exhibition "Executed by hunger" has opened in Brussels to commemorate the victims of the man-made famine in Ukraine in 1932-1933.

The exhibition at the Press Club Brussels Europe will last until December 1, a Brussels-based Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The man-made famine was purposefully initiated by the top leadership of the former Soviet Union to suppress the Ukrainian national liberation movement and annihilate Ukrainians physically," Ukrainian Ambassador to Belgium Mykola Tochytsky said.

The exhibition opening was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps under the EU and NATO, officials of the leading EU institutions, the Ukrainian community in Belgium, members of the Ukraine-Belgium parliamentary friendship group, Ukraine's friends in Europe.

Tochytsky also reminded about the resolution of the European Parliament, which recognized the Holodomor in Ukraine as a crime against humanity, and called upon the world countries to acknowledge this tragedy as an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people.
