Ukraine’s industrial heritage tourist route to be presented next year

A tourist route throughout the entire territory of Ukraine containing a number of sites of industrial and post-industrial cultural heritage of the country will be presented next year.

This is posted on Facebook page of the Chernobyl Tourism Association.

"Last week, the first Ukraine’s industrial heritage tourist route was developed by experts during the Tourist Business Forum 2017, at the round table meeting “Ukraine’s industrial heritage tourist route: Chernobyl and other outstanding industrial and postindustrial destinations of Ukraine as UNESCO World Heritage sites." We need this route to join the existing network of the European industrial heritage routes and to strengthen the image of our country as the industrial state," the post reads.

In particular, the first version of the route includes outstanding industrial enterprises, museums of Ukraine, as well as such post-industrial objects as the Chernobyl exclusion zone, Odesa catacombs, dips over mine cavities in Kryvyi Rih and the like.
