Health Ministry promises to fully provide drugs to patients with leukemia

In Ukraine, patients with leukemia will be provided with 100% treatment.

This was reported by the press service of the Health Ministry of Ukraine.

"This year, the state for the first time in all years will be able to fully cover the need for treatment of patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia. This became possible due to the effectiveness of procurement by international organizations," the report reads.

The UNDP managed to purchase Imatinib, the drug for the treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia, at an extremely low price. "The savings of budgetary funds amounted to UAH 11 million, and the organization already conducted the additional purchase of drugs. The volume of purchases will provide about 1,100 people with the necessary drug," the Health Ministry stressed.
