Russian special services planned to kill National Police official - military prosecutor

The subjects of assassination attempts and interest of the Russian special services, as well as the so-called center of special operations of the "DPR/LPR," were 1,600 law enforcement officers and officials of Ukraine, including the country's state leaders.

Ukrainian Deputy Prosecutor General and Chief Military Prosecutor Anatoliy Matios said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports. 

"The subjects of an assassination attempt that we established, as well as the killing of Colonel [Maksym] Shapoval (from the Main Directorate of Intelligence), the subjects of interest of the special services of the neighboring country, as well as the center of special operations of the DPR/LPR, were 1,600 law enforcers and state leaders of Ukraine, including the top ranking leadership of the state," Matios said.

According to him, the subject of the assassination attempt on Colonel of the Main Directorate of Intelligence Maksym Shapoval had to be incumbent First Deputy Head of the National Police Viacheslav Abroskin.
