Ukraine’s representative in Trilateral Contact Group: 152 people still held captive in occupied Donbas

Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Herashchenko says 152 people are still held captive in occupied Donbas.

"152 people are still held captive in occupied Donbas. Some of them have been captive for three years. There are journalists, volunteers and nine women among the hostages. Six teenagers have been held in a prison for more than a year. The ICRC and other international organizations are not allowed to visit the captives. There are dozens of Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar political prisoners in Russia, they suffer for their pro-Ukrainian views," Herashchenko wrote on her Facebook page.

She informed that more than 70 hostages had been released during the work of the humanitarian Minsk subgroup.

"We have managed to release three captives from Russian prisons. However, the process of release has been blocked for already a year. The world keeps silent whereas it must shout," she stressed.
