Education Minister of Poland has no complaints about Polish schools in Ukraine

Ukraine will not limit the right to education in the Polish language.

Education Minister of Poland Anna Zalewska said this at the meeting of the Sejm commission on contacts with the Poles abroad, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We can honestly tell the Poles in Ukraine that none of their privileges provided for by bilateral agreements will be limited," Zalewska said.

She stressed that on Tuesday evening Ukraine and Poland had signed the declaration, which stipulates that "the Poles will be taught in the Polish language."

The minister stressed that the declaration reminded the provisions already enshrined in bilateral agreements.

As reported, Education Minister of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych and Education Minister of Poland Anna Zalewska met to discuss the Ukraine’s education law in Kyiv on October 17. The parties agreed to sign a declaration stipulating the main directions of implementation of the language article of the Law of Ukraine "On Education" for Ukrainian schools with the Polish language of study.
