Kyiv authorities, Google launch a project to inform about services and events in the city

The Kyiv city authorities plan to start cooperation with Google to provide the residents of the city with information about all municipal institutions, utility companies and events.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said this after the meeting with Google Ukraine director for interaction with state authorities Oleh Yakymchuk and managing partner of the CFC consulting company Hennadiy Kurochka.

"The city authorities are committed to cooperation with Google, the most popular search service, so that the residents of Kyiv could obtain the necessary information about the services and activities of all municipal institutions, utility companies and all the events taking place in the city with the help of open and free Google services,” said Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

It is planned to tag 3,500 Kyiv facilities on Google maps. "Everyone will be able to find the nearest sports club, school, hospital, administrative services center, public utilities service provider, bank, pharmacy, etc. There will be full information about the schedule of work, contacts of management, employees, photos and videos. One should only go to Google search engine or Google maps, and all the information will be available on a smartphone or computer in a few seconds," the mayor explained.

In addition, Klitschko noted that the capital authorities intend to develop in cooperation with Google a system that will allow every Kyiv citizen or guest of the capital to be aware of interesting district and city events.
