VR committee develops bill on reusing household waste as alternative energy source

The Verkhovna Rada's committee on fuel and energy complex, nuclear policy and nuclear safety has developed a bill on reusing household waste as renewable energy source, according to the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) parliamentary faction.

“Our committee has developed a draft law to promote the use of household waste as alternative energy source. Along with other bills on household waste management, this bill is being prepared to be submitted for parliament’s consideration,” said Oleksandr Dombrovsky, an MP from BPP and first deputy head of the committee on fuel and energy complex.

According to him, Ukraine should develop a new waste management policy.

"Therefore, at present one of the most important tasks for the Verkhovna Rada is to develop and adopt a package of draft laws in the sphere of domestic waste management. We must convert household waste from an ecological problem into a source of energy and resources," Dombrovsky stressed.
