Almost 4,000 applications to ECHR concern conflicts in Donbas and Crimea

Almost 4,000 applications sent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) concern military conflicts in Crimea and eastern Ukraine. 

The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons posted this information on Twitter.

"About 4,000 applications on the conflict in Crimea and eastern Ukraine have been sent to the European Court of Human Rights #ECHR," reads the report.

It is stressed that 3,500 of these cases relate to property damage, access to justice, pensions, discrimination, and participation in local elections in eastern Ukraine.

According to the ministry, another 150 cases concern the disappearance of people during the conflict, killings, kidnapping, and injuries of relatives of the applicants to the European Court.

In addition, the ministry specified that more than 250 cases concern servicepersons and their relatives.
