Zakarpattia region earned by 35% more than last year due to tourism

The revenues from tourism fees to the local budgets of Zakarpattia region increased by 35% compared to the same period last year.

This is reported on the website of the Main Department of the State Fiscal Service in Zakarpattia region.

"The local budgets of Zakarpattia region received about UAH 1.448 million of tourist tax. These funds were paid during seven months of 2017 by Ukrainian citizens, foreigners, as well as stateless persons, who visited Zakarpattia region and received services for temporary living (overnight stop). Compared to the same period of last year, the revenues increased by UAH 37 thousand," the report reads.

According to the head of the department of tourism and resorts of Zakarpattia region, Lyubov Kohuch, the increase in budget revenues from the tourism fees shows the growth of the tourist flow. This happens due to the development of various tourist destinations, first of all, event tourism.
