More than 20,000 Russians denied entry to Ukraine in last two years

More than 20,000 Russians were denied entry to Ukraine in the period from 2015 through 2017.

Head of the State Border Service Petro Tsyhykal said this in an interview with Interfax.

“As to statistics, over 20,000 Russians were denied entry from 2015 through August 3, 2017. The figures show that most denies were recorded in 2015 - 10,900, while in 2017 about 3,000 Russian citizens were denied entry," Tsyhykal said.

According to him, general grounds for refusals are insufficient explanation for the purpose of travel, exceeding the registration deadline and insufficient means of subsistence.

"As to an entry ban, we are currently talking about 3,148 Russian citizens, of whom about 100 are famous Russian performers and public figures that mainly illegally visited Crimea," Tsyhykal said.
