SBU says coordinating councils to operate to prevent provocations in Kyiv during Orthodox march

A coordinating council and headquarters will be organized to address issues related to religious procession in the capital city such as collecting information on possible provocations, chief of the SBU in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region Stepan Gryshchuk told Kyiv City Council members, Ukrinform has reported.

"The NGOs have imitated and established the headquarters for coordination, which will be located in the center of Kyiv to collect information about the events that will take place in Kyiv. Similar headquarters will be set up for organizing and coordinating steps in the Kyiv Region," said the law enforcement official.

According to him, the State Security Service (SBU), police have also established a Coordination Board. "Coordination Board also includes the leaders of public movements and some MPs," he added.

Gryshchuk noted that such issues as prohibition of provocative symbols, unconstitutional slogans, provoking separatist demonstrations during the religious march have also been discussed.
