New air temperature record set in Kyiv on July 17

In Ukrainian capital city on Sunday, July 17, the thermometer reading rose to the level of + 35.4 °C, or 1.3 °C higher than the previous historical all-time high for this date, the Central Geophysical Observatory has reported.

"According to the measurements taken by the weather station of the Central Geophysical Observatory, the maximum temperature was recorded in the capital on July 17. The air temperature surged to + 35.4 ° C, or 1.3 °C hotter than the previous historical record on this date in 2007," the report has said.

It is noted that overall 27 temperature records have been broken in Kyiv since the beginning of the year.
