Warsaw may get street named after Kyiv Maidan heroes

On Monday 22 February the Polish activists, politicians and public figures will submit to the local authorities of Warsaw a proposal for naming a street Maidan heroes in the Polish capital of Warsaw.

Polish Radio reports.

"We, the residents of Warsaw, the undersigned, believe that it is necessary to honor to the strong  valor and dedication of hundreds of thousand of Ukrainian and foreign citizens who supported them, including Poles, who in November of 2013, took to the streets of Kyiv by starting an unwavering struggle for a free and pro-European Ukraine," a statement said.

The authors of the proposal suggest to name one of the streets Maidan heroes that is adjacent to Shevchenko square located in the center of Warsaw.
