Umerov arrives in U.S. for talks

Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council and head of the Ukrainian negotiating group Rustem Umerov has arrived in the United States.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was announced by Presidential communications adviser Dmytro Lytvyn.

“(Umerov — ed.) has already briefed the President, and there will soon be more information about this,” Lytvyn said.

Umerov is expected to meet with Donald Trump’s Special Envoy Steve Witkoff in Miami. The talks, scheduled to take place in the state of Florida, will be the first such meeting after a lengthy pause.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had earlier stated that Ukraine was expecting a visit to Kyiv by representatives of U.S. President Donald Trump – Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
